New GTA 6 screenshot shows Vice City skyline and coast

Rockstar's new GTA 6 screenshot shows Vice City's skyline and coast, with towers under construction, a Ferris wheel pier, a stadium and giant inflatable bears.

Confirmed. Rockstar Games or Take-Two said this on the record.

Rockstar Games has released a new screenshot of Grand Theft Auto 6 that shows the skyline and coastline of Vice City from an angle fans haven't seen before. Spanish outlet Vandal reported on the image on November 3, along with a batch of practical launch details Rockstar shared at the same time.

What the Vice City screenshot shows

Skyscrapers fill most of the frame, and several are still under construction, so this is a city that hasn't stopped building. Going by Vandal's description, the shot also takes in a pier with a Ferris wheel, a huge stadium and a building with a spherical roof that the outlet compares to the Sphere in Las Vegas.

At the waterline, a bridge links this part of the city to other districts. Beneath it is a small cove with a beach bar and sun loungers, and yachts sit in the water nearby. Across from the cove there seems to be a party going on, with giant inflatable bears floating in the sea. Vice City clearly still knows how to spend money in style.

A richer Vice City than the 2002 original

Vice City is the capital of Leonida, the Florida-inspired state where GTA 6 is set. Players first saw Rockstar's take on Miami in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City in 2002, which was set in 1986. They went back in Vice City Stories in 2006, set in 1984. Vandal says the modern city looks far more luxurious, and the yachts, cabanas and private parties in the new image support that.

The glossy look is on purpose. According to Vandal, Rockstar has said several times that the design of Vice City and the story of Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos are meant to explore inequality in the region. Loungers for the wealthy next to half-built towers is a pretty clear picture of that theme.

The city is only one piece of the map. Leonida also covers the Leonida Keys, the Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga. If you like scanning Rockstar's stills for small details, our piece on what earlier GTA 6 screenshots were hiding is a good companion read.

Storage, pre-load and the map poster

Rockstar didn't release the screenshot on its own. Vandal reports that Rockstar also announced how much internal storage GTA 6 will take up on PS5 and Xbox Series consoles and gave the date when pre-loading opens. It also confirmed that it will sell a poster with the map and cover art after launch. In earlier GTA games the map came in the box. GTA 6 launches on November 19.
