GTA 6 Vice City Collection sells out in Japan via Capcom

Capcom's online store in Japan sold out of Grand Theft Auto VI: The Goodtime State: Vice City Collection within a few hours of opening orders on October 30, according to Spanish outlet Vandal. The box of Vice City merchandise costs 99,980 yen. Vandal calls it the most expensive GTA 6 edition, yet it doesn't include the game.

Vandal can't say exactly why it went so fast. It offers two explanations: Capcom may have had only a small allocation, or Japanese players may simply be very keen on GTA 6. The report gives no unit numbers and doesn't mention a restock.

Inside the Vice City Collection box

The collection is all physical merchandise themed around Vice City and the wider game world. According to Vandal, the special box contains:

• A Macca figure
• Sunglasses
• A bum bag
• A cap
• A magnetic mirror
• A tumbler and a cocktail spoon
• A keychain
• Pins and stickers
• A poster of the map

The game has to be bought separately. Vandal converts the Japanese price to roughly 568 euros and notes that the same collection sells for 400 euros in the West, so Japanese buyers are paying a noticeable premium for the box. Capcom's long run as Rockstar's Japanese partner

Capcom being the seller in Japan is nothing new. Vandal points out that the Resident Evil publisher has worked with Rockstar in the country for more than 20 years, releasing the series there from Grand Theft Auto 3 through Grand Theft Auto 5. The Vice City Collection is sold only through Capcom's own store.

Launch dates and the 210 GB file size

Vandal repeats the main launch details. GTA 6 arrives on November 19 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The boxed physical edition, which contains no disc, reaches shops on November 12. Pre-loading opens the same day on PlayStation Store and Microsoft Store. There is also an Ultimate Edition, sold only as a digital download. The outlet also mentions a 210 GB file size, which it says was found on PSN servers. That figure comes from a leak, not from Rockstar.
